September 30 – Orange Shirt Day

This Thursday is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.  Throughout the day students and staff will learn together about the history of Canada’s Indigenous people.  Each period, a portion of the class will focus on furthering our understanding in this area.

This is a starting point for our work which will take place throughout the year.  All students are encouraged to wear orange on Thursday as part of the day’s activities.

PowerSchool Access

Grade 9 students - and any student new to ASD-S - should be coming home this week with instructions on how parents/guardians can access their marks and attendance on PowerSchool.

Tip:  There is a link to the ASD-S PowerSchool portal found directly on the main page of the Harbour View website (hvhs.nbed.nb.ca).  Searching for PowerSchool using a search engine most often does not point to the correct site – which is a common error and frustration for parents!

Proof of vaccination to participate in extra-curricular activities

Students are reminded to provide proof of full vaccination to an administrator (Mrs. Dumont, Mr. McCaustlin, or Mr. Butler) if they wish to participate in extra-curricular activities.  This is part of the new provincial protocols in place at all schools.

School Photos

School Photos are scheduled for this Wednesday, September 29th.

Thank you for your continued cooperation as we adapt to new protocols as they come into effect.  Each day there are approximately 1000 students and staff within our school – so it is important we are all working together to ensure every effort is made to keep each of us safe and healthy.
