Baseball: The Baseball regular season starts on the first day of classes. As a result of this the tryouts begin in mid August. All interested players are welcome to try out for the team. The try out dates and times will be announced in the paper and on the radio.
 
Softball - Girls: The Softball regular season starts on the first day of classes. As a result of this the tryouts begin in mid August. All interested players are welcome to try out for the team. The try out dates and times will be announced in the paper and on the radio.
 
Basketball: JV Boys and Girls and Varsity Boys and Girls basketball programs are all offered at HV. The teams are competitive but also have a lot of fun. Each team competes in numerous tournaments and also play exhibition games. The season starts in October and continues into February. All students are welcome and encouraged to try out for their respective teams.
 
Badminton: JV Boys and Girls and Varsity Boys and Girls teams are offered here at HV. Students can opt try out for singles, doubles, and mixed doubles teams, and can potentially play on all three teams as well. Those who make the team will first compete in the Southern Conference. If they qualify in first – fourth place they will advance to the Regionals, and then to the Provincials using the same process.

Cheerleading:
HV has a fantastic cheer program which includes 20-30 students each year. The team practices all year long and competes in a number of competitions finishing in the spring at Provincial’s. Any interested students should see Mrs. Thompson in the library.

Cross Country:
This is a fall sport and is open to all students. The school team enters a number of meets and competes in the regionals and provincials.

Field Hockey
: Joining the Harbour View Field Hockey team is a great way to get active and involved, make new friends, and have fun! The team welcomes new players every fall, and no experience is required. All equipment is provided, so come out and have fun.
Football: Football is a great sport that incorporates a variety of athletes. The season starts at the beginning of September and to be prepared for this early start try outs will begin mid August. All athletes are invited to try outs regardless of experience. If you are interested in trying out watch the paper and listen to the radio for tryout dates and times.  

 
Golf: Golf is a short season consisting of two weekend tournaments in September/October The school has both a girls and a guys team.
 
Hockey: The male and female hockey teams compete in the Southern Conference High School Hockey League. The season starts at the beginning of October and continues until mid March.
 
Rugby: The Junior male and female team consists of primarily grade 9 and 10 players while the Senior male and female team will be made up of mainly grade 11 and 12 players.
 
Soccer: HV has JV Boys and Girls and Varsity Boys and Girls soccer. The season starts in mid September and goes until late October. 

Swimming: The swim club is open to all students. Swim try outs and practices begin in September and continue until the Provincial Championships in December. All interested students are invited to try outs, no experience necessary. 

Track and Field: Track and Field – Do you like to run, jump, throw, hop and compete against others? This is the team for you. HVHS has a great T&F team that competes in all events. The season starts in February and goes until June.

Volleyball:
HVHS has a wonderful volleyball program. We offer both JV and Varsity teams and the tryouts are open to all interested students. No experience necessary. So if you play volleyball or even if you just like it and want to give it a try come on out to the tryouts which begin at the first of February. The regular season runs from mid February through to May.
 
Team Manager: Managers help our coaches with tasks like keeping stats, recording games, and managing equipment. They are an important part of each team at Harbour View.
 
Score Keepers: Score keepers are needed for basketball and volleyball games that are played in our gym. It involves keeping the scorebook, putting the score on the clock, and in basketball operating the 24 second clock. This is another important component of out athletics department for any student that has an interest in sports.
 
Student Athletic Director: These students are chosen through an application process in June. Student athletic directors are responsible for the distribution and collection of uniforms for all of our sports teams. They also run our pep rallies, promote our teams on social media, and organize major sporting events like provincials and the East/West challenge.
