Santa Claus Parade!

Congratulations to our staff and students who organized our float in the Saint John Santa Claus Parade.  They received the award for Best School Entry!

Thank you to our TAPSS committee for providing some refreshments for students after the parade to help them warm up and get them through the dismantling of the float after a long day’s work.

Ski and Snowboard Club

Our Ski and Snowboard Club is happy to see the snow! This activity is for students interested in participating in Ski or Snowboard at Poley Mountain. This runs for 6 weeks in January and February.  There will be an information meeting next Tuesday at noon for those interested in receiving more information.

Sunshine Café/Breakfast Program

For the month of November we are looking for donations of fresh fruit (apples and bananas) as well as whole grain bagels and light cream cheese.  This food helps to feed our students while at school – and also allows us to send home food with those who may not have the means of purchasing healthy food on their own.

It Takes a Village Series – Consent and Risky Behaviour in the era of Social Media and Electronic Devices

Another evening organized by the Parent School Support Committes of the four Saint John Education Centre High Schools will take place on Thursday, October 6 at SJHS beginning at 6:30pm.  Information follows – and a brochure is attached.   Village_Dec2018_final.pdf

As parents and guardians - are you concerned about what is happening with your teen and their social media? Or are we even aware of what is being posted and shared and seen?

We know that teens’ and tweens’ brains are still developing throughout high school and middle school and that these students often lack impulse control and the ability to understand the long-term consequences of decisions made in moments of happiness, anger, and frustration. With over 94% of students on line today, we need to be concerned with what they are seeing, sharing and posting to their friends and the online world.

The committee of “It Takes a Village” is pleased to offer another speaker series.

It takes a village to raise a teen: Consent and Risky Behaviors: An informative presentation for parents of youth in the era of social media and electronic devices.

This FREE informative presentation is designed for parents/guardians of youth in the era of social media and electronic devices. Please feel free to share this event with friends, family, co-workers
