A message from the principal

I indicated in my email on Tuesday that I would provide an upcoming on online learning by the end of the week.  Unfortunately, there are still some areas waiting to be finalized beyond what I have already communicated - but that will come early next week.

Of the courses which launched online yesterday, over 50% of students have accessed the materials.  That is a wonderful start!  Our target is to add elective courses next week - but wanted to start with a more manageable number.

The question has been asked by many students about whether they are required to complete the online work.  It is strongly recommended, if possible, for students to complete the work for any course which will be a pre-requisite for future learning - either at the high school or post-secondary level.

For students in Grade 12 - if they have earned 12 credits by the end of Semester 1 and they had a course load which would have enabled them to graduate in June, they will be eligible to graduate this school year.

More detail will come next week regarding credits, transcripts etc..  We do not want to communicate anything about those items until everything is finalized through the Department - so we have as many answers and details as possible when we send along information.

Apple Products

A local business with a connection to Harbour View has generously offered to update any student's Apple products if they require that for online learning - free of charge.  If this is something you would like to know more about, please contact Mr. O'Connell (Robert.oconnell@nbed.nb.ca)
