Final Assessments

Final Assessments for the year begin next Friday, June 11.  The full schedule was emailed out previously, is on the school website, and is posted throughout the school.  Students should be confirming with the posted schedules and with their teachers exactly which courses have final assessments scheduled during Assessment Week as well as where and when those take place.  To help them get organized with that information, all students will be provided with the attached ‘personal calendar’ which they should fill in:   Student version June 2021 assessment schedule.pdf

This checklist is also in place to ensure students are prepared with the information required for their assessments:  Final Assessment Checklist June 2021.pdf     It outlines responsibilities of teachers leading up to those assessments – as well as the responsibilities of students.

2021-2022 Schedules

Students will receive their tentative schedules for next school year Thursday and Friday of this week.  For students who have blank periods or require courses changes they can see a Guidance Counsellor or Mrs. Curwin during Homeroom or lunch – or they may submit a Guidance request using the link on the school website (hvhs.nbed.nb.ca).

Summer School

This year there will be two summer school options for students.  Information regarding the traditional, in-person summer school will be available later in June.  That is targeted towards students who already completed a course but were unsuccessful.

The Department of Education is also offering a FREE option for students to take one online course this summer.  This is a great option for students who may have missed a pre-requisite course they require for next year, would like time to focus on a single course at a time, etc.  It is important to note these are full-semester online courses which are being offered in a shortened timeframe, so the workload would be high.  Information can be found in the following attachment: Summer Learning for Students 2021.pdf

International Homestays

We are still looking for additional homes for international students arriving in the fall.  If you have interest in being a host, or know of a family member or friend in the community who may be, information can be found through the attached brochure: NBISP Homestay Brochure to Schools 2021.pdf
