Welcoming back our 940 students last week was quite a change from our cohort model from the last school year.  It was wonderful to see full classrooms, busy hallways, and fewer restrictions within some courses and extra-curricular programming.  It is still important to continue with Public Health measures we still have in place such as sanitizing, handwashing, and masking in common areas.

Yearbooks

2020-2021 yearbooks are scheduled to arrive early this week. The delivery dates were pushed back last year because COVID-19 affected many of the activities that typically make up a lot of the yearbook content. Nevertheless, the later deadlines meant that we were able to include many May & June activities that don't regularly make it into the yearbook, and we are excited for you to see the book that captures such a different year! Information on ordering your 2021-2022 yearbooks will be available the same day that 2020-2021 yearbooks go home. Ordering is done online, and the early bird pricing is the best deal, so don't miss it!

Information Sheets and Consent Forms

Students should have brought home information sheets, consent forms for media/photography, and PowerSchool Portal request forms for students new to Harbour View.  It is very helpful to get these forms returned as quickly as possible so our administrative assistants can be sure our database is up to date.

School Photos

School Photos are scheduled for September 29th.

Laptops

The province continues to ask all high school students to have a personal laptop.  As a school, our minimum requirement of teachers is that they post course materials to Teams and use the Assignments feature for all assignments, projects, and assessments.  Some teachers may use this only as a tool to support student organization – while others may go far beyond and use it to a much greater degree within their courses.

For families who may struggle with the cost of this laptop, a subsidy program is available.  Information can be found at this link:  Laptop Subsidy Program (gnb.ca)

If you have questions, please reach out to the school.
